Saving Tips For Moms

If you are about to have a baby its time to start saving but have fun while you are doing it. We know its hard in these economical climate but we have got to try and not suck the fun out of it while doing it. First see if your utility companies have any programs that charges you less or can save you any cash, contrary to belief these companies have program to help if you can’t manage or they can extend your promotional price.

Opt for carpooling when you can, this reduces the cost of gas and the wear and tear on the car thus reducing mechanical expenses, this will save about $160 per monthly. Another way is to put a hold on the phone plan don’t take out two year phone that cost you an arm and a leg.  Make it a pay as you go plan or a monthly fixed amount this will save about $40 .

Have family fun at free spots like the library, I know it does not sound very exciting but they offer a lot of fun stuff for kids like story time and art an craft workshops. Plus they provide free passes to zoo and museums.  This can save about $50 on entertainment for the kids especially during the summer.

If you want a family night out choose places where kids eat for free and look on their website and see if there are any specials or coupons being offered. Some places like Denny’s kids eat free on Tuesdays so you could make it cheaper but still have fun no matter what day it is that you do it. This could save you about $15 if you have at least two children.

Don’t hire a babysitter ask a friend or family member to help. You could arrange to keep their kids one Saturday so that they can enjoy themselves and they could do it for you. Nothing serious, just one night out of the month so you and your loved one can have a night out without the kids. This co-operation could save you at least $30 for one night of fun.

I have told my friends this many times join Netflix. If you are not into seeing the movies as they come out join Netflix you get unlimited access to TV shows and older movies (not black and white old). Its only $8 a month, this saves on cable bill and cineplex bill and can save about $20 per month.

Start doing stuff at home have a little inexpensive dinner party, invite your friends then decide whose house it will be at next month. Its much cheaper especially if all your friends have families, each week  or month a different family organized this inexpensive dinner party so you don’t become bored and its not too pressuring on one family to always be the one entertaining.

Shop in bulk, you and a friend can put together and purchase everyday items in bulk and use those coupons. It may be stressful but do the work and you will see the rewards in the saving. Especially if it a buy one get one free you and you free can split the cost of the one product.

These are just a few ways to cut back and save when another baby is on the way or just make it a everyday lifestyle.
