Japanese women soccer team celebrating after defeating the U.S women in the finals in Germany to crown themselves new World Champions.
A very courageous display by the U.S women soccer team in the finals in Germany could not get them the ultimate prize, because of faulty defending.
The U.S. women played much better than their Japanese counterpart and controlled much of the game until they had two fatal errors near the end of the game that allowed the Japanese to come from behind on two occasions.
Abby Wambach again displayed her excellent heading skills, to put the U.S. in front just as she did against Brazil and France in the previous two games.
The U.S defense made too many silly errors at the most critical part of the games, which allowed the Japanese team to come back. It must be mentioned that Japanese played very well but the U.S team just lost their concentration at the end of the game.
The U.S team could still have won but the penalty kicks they took were poor and the Japanese proved to be more clinical finishers on the day. Congrats to the Japan women soccer team on being the new World Champions.
