We live in a world today that operates on technological devices. Therefore, it is in the hands of the user to ensure that he or she utilizes said device with an optimistic outlook. These devices are create in order to motivate and generate a faster and brighter future. Unfortunately, these same devices can be used for negative things as well and sex-ting would be one them. Sex-ting is the exchange of sexual comments or pictures from one person to the next through a text message. This act not only degrades and devalue the people involved but it also can jeopardize a person’s life. We have seen a young girl commit suicide due to pictures of herself being in the wrong hands and we have heard of teens getting into fights over text messages being forwarded to the wrong person. All that can be avoided if one just send messages that they won’t be ashamed of if other people saw it. Teens need to be fully aware that whatever is said or sent through a text, email, and facebook will always be out there for the world to see; they just have to find a way to get to it. Sex-ting is never acceptable, no matter what and teens shouldn’t be getting involved with exposing themselves to anyone. Once teens find true self worth and believe that they don’t have to stoop that low to get someone’s acceptance they will definitely start to weed away from the negative aspects that technology provides.
