It does have starch (carbohydrates), which produces energy for the body but nothing else. Is it the way they prepare it or is it just a fad? Every kid wants McDonald’s and its pull other than the toy is the fries, which is usually cooked in over processed oil.
Same reason why everyone like junk food, quick, easy and full of salt and all kinds of additives that trick the brain into experience of great flavour but it all tastes fake when you remove the salt, MSG and other artificial additives
The best way to get kids to eat vegetables if they don’t like them is to chop them up really small so that they cannotbe seen and include it in their favourite dish such as pasta dishes, meat dishes and even rice. Also try different types of veggies and different methods some kids like certain veg raw while others prefer them cooked. Some are like cucumbers on a hot day as finger food. Also if you make them look pretty and enticing they may try them and start liking them. If not then just hide it the meals you prepare.

More than likely, it is the ‘saltiness’. Children usually love salt.
